1.3 Air Handling Unit (AHU)
AHU are suitably located in the interior space to supply cooling air locally.
The AHU is a central cooling air handler which delivers conditioned cooling air to the floor plenum. From the plenum, cooling air is delivered onto floor space diffusing through ADM terminals. Cooling condition and office space at each floor, or by each tenant occupancy, decide numbers of AHU and capacity selection.

1.3.1 The AHU units deliver chilled air into the access floor void as supply plenum. Fresh air is  delivered directly to the AHU from outside or via a central ventilation system. Extract air is usually distributing outside at high level of the AHU covering space.

1.3.2 An AHU contains standard filters, copper pipe cooling coils, drive fans and comprehensive control systems. The unit is supported by self-stand steel chassis with shock absorbing buffers. The base frame is available in a variety of configurations to direct cooling air as required and is height adjustable in line with site level of the access floor. Fresh air and return are inputting from return air plenum at top.

1.3.3 Capacity:
Standard cooling capacity per AHU are 96,000 BTU / hr (22,500 Kcal / hr) up to 240,000 BTU / hr (60,000 Kcal / hr)

1.3.4 Plan and deploy of AHU and ADM
To provide efficient distribution of air from the floor plenum, location of AHU in each service space is planed at least blocking, averagely shortest distance to ADMs. And its location shall be harmonized with office space layout plan. Numbers and deployment of ADMs shall be planned efficient air supply, not interfering pathway, and providing comfortable condition to personnel in each served zone.
